Tanya Roper
Executive Director

A native of small-town in Linden, NC, Tanya Roper earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work from Fayetteville State University and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Strayer University. In 2004 Tanya started her journey working for some of the best youth organizations in the country.  During undergraduate school she worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Fayetteville, NC for 5 years. After graduating she became a Lead Enrollment specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle, which led to 14 years dedicated to their mission. 

 

In 2018, Tanya was named the first Executive Director Simply Girls Inc., located in Harnett County, NC. Tanya wants to see all children succeed in life and is passionate about helping children and their families. She is overwhelmed with joy to be leading the charge to help young girls grow to successful women, and she seeks to leverage her passion, talents and experience to help grow Simply Girls Inc.

 

In her free time, Tanya enjoys reading, crafting, shopping, traveling and finding new adventures for her daughter, Symone, who she adores dearly.  Because of Symone, she will always be committed to helping children. 

Tiffany Rivera
Program Director

Born in Nurnberg, Germany, Tiffany has always had a life of traveling and visiting different states and countries. Leaving Germany at the age of 5, She resided in Texas for years as the youngest of 3 with her mother who is now an Army Veteran of over 15 years of active duty service. As a teenager, Tiffany has always been a spiritual writer at heart. Writing poems of encouragement and self-reflection was her way of dealing with family chaos and kept her uplifted. She pursued a number of professional interests including praise dance, music (plays 2 instruments), motivational speaker, host and magazine writer (for 3 women online magazines). Tiffany even interned for Fayetteville State University Radio Station Bronco-iRadio.  

 

Currently, Tiffany resides in Spring Lake, NC with her son Elijah. Tiffany is the author of two published books, Ruined Womb and A Restored Womb, a veteran of the U.S Army Reserve for 8 years, a poet, and the current Youth Program Director at Simply Girls in Dunn, NC.  Everyday Tiffany pushes to inspire, empower and encourage young lives!

Meet our Founder

Kimberly Breeden
Founder & Board President

Kimberly Breeden built a career on working for some of the best non-profit brands in the business.  Breeden learned early in her career that her passion was working with children facing adversity. 

 

In 1990, she embarked on a career with Boys and Girls Clubs.  She went on to become an Executive Director for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greensboro, NC.  She continued to promote Leadership and mentoring.  During her years with Boys and Girls Clubs she received numerous awards for programs designed for children ages 6-18 and staff leadership programs.

 

In 2002, Breeden continued to fulfill her passion working with at-risk children and accepted the role as Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Durham and Orange Counties.  The Agency was serving 38 children when she started.  In 2005, two Big Brothers Big Sister organizations merged to form Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and named Breeden as the CEO.  In 2008, Breeden was named CEO of the Year for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle won many awards under Breeden’s leadership including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s prestigious awards: Gold Standard Award and Board of the Year.  Breeden retired from BBBS of the Triangle in October 2017 and was recognized for leading the organization for 15 years.  BBBS of the Triangle served over 12,000 children during her tenure. 

 

In 2017, Breeden accepted a role working for a Foundation and has the honor of awarding grants to non-profits in Eastern, NC.  She remains an advocate for children and their families. In November 2017, Breeden founded Simply Girls Inc. which is in Dunn, NC.  There are so many things Breeden is proud of but Simply Girls Inc. is one her greatest accomplishments.  Breeden hopes Simply Girls will impact the lives of girls ages 5-18 for years to come.  Breeden hopes that she can inspire others to make a difference in the lives of children!!!
